Subject: A stellar recording...
Subject: A stellar recording...
...indeed, I was there and this recording is taking me back to the 1st of my final two shows ever, a wonderful balance between being able to hear the band
...
while also hearing enough of how appreciative the Heads were at these two final Albany shows, of which I gratefully attended all of them sans the 1st year ('90).
I also attended the Giants Stadium shows prior to this/these and was thankful that whatever Jer had left in his tank that he threw it down as much as he could.
Did he nail it start to finish? Hellz no but c'mon, he was no longer to be on this mortal earth too soon thereafter so...
...if I'm biased it's simply because the GD was not about the playing imo, it was about the magic created by the playing and these last two shows were as magical for the moment as it got to this attendee. Jer may not have been able to coax out all of the notes that he was trying to but it wasn't from a lack of trying to sincerely do so.
For those that can dig it, this is imho a great representation of one of the last two great shows out of 140 plus that I attended. Jer poured whatever he had in his heart out in Albany and I'm thankful that I was both there and able to relive the moment on its anniversary 29 years later. Thank you Ray, Charlie and Joel.
